Job Description

Nature of Work
  • Facilitate accounting and financial planning processes and conduct operations in these areas which will include billing Boeing for the work done and managing the financial account for the project
  • Manage HR business process, including hiring, terminating, I9 compliance, and other onboarding activities; maintain confidential practices; monitor and approve student hours in a timely fashion; interface with the technical team to ensure accurate reporting. We anticipate that this project will involve frequent hiring of new students due to the anticipated high turnover rate.
  • Generate reports from the HR system on a weekly basis that track work progress and hours. Sufficient organizational and time management skills.
  • Utilize various software systems or platforms in job related tasks. Transfer data to Excel spreadsheets which requires experience in database operations and excellent skills in working with data in Excel files.
  • Communicate with Boeing and other external entities on behalf of the Joint Engineering Program and UMSL, in both written reports and regular meetings.
  • Communicate and work with sponsored program office on project related operations.
  • Perform other routine tasks in the office of the Joint Engineering Program.
A candidate may be hired at a higher grade if the candidate meets the preferred knowledge, skills, and ability qualifications.

Hiring Range: $17.43 - $26.00 Hourly

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel), Adobe, Teams, and Zoom
  • Experience with budget reporting and payroll systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Goal oriented and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Work experience in higher education and/or a background in engineering
