Job Summary:

The Programmer/Analyst is responsible for supporting Marist’s Ellucian Banner ERP and in the development of various software products in support of the College mission. This position will also write, test, document and deliver new software and processes based upon customer requests; develop reports; apply and test vendor delivered patches; and ensure data integrity. The programmer/analyst acts as a liaison with administrative offices while providing user support and excellent customer service.

This position is hybrid/remote eligible with periodic on-campus work at the supervisor’s discretion.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems and /or six years’ experience in the information technology field. Ideal candidate should have experience in using SQL, PL/SQL, JAVA, PHP with demonstrated success in software development. UNIX skills and shell scripting experience preferred.

Experience with Ellucian Banner software is strongly preferred. Ability to work in rapidly changing technological and team-oriented environment is essential. Excellent customer service and communication skills a must.

Essential Functions:
  • Work with customers to streamline business processes and realize efficiencies
  • Develop processes, programs and ad hoc reports
  • Act as liaison with administrative offices while providing user support and excellent customer service
  • Work as a team to develop large scale enterprise software
  • Write, test, document and deliver new software and processes based upon customer needs and requests
  • Maintain and enhance self-service applications and portal
  • Apply and test vendor delivered patches
  • Document all related procedures.
  • Serve on committees as assigned by upper management
  • Exhibit diplomacy, strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Report regularly to senior management on Key Performance Indicators and strategic progress
  • On-call responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:

UNIX skills and shell scripting experience preferred. Experience with Ellucian Banner software is strongly preferred.

Fully-Remote Eligible: This position is located in Poughkeepsie, New York and is fully-remote eligible.

Relocation: It is College policy to reimburse eligible newly hired full-time administrative staff members for reasonable expenses incurred in relocating to the area. To be eligible for reimbursement, new employees must move a minimum of 50 miles from their present home; must move within the first year of hire. Generally, the College will reimburse eligible moving and relocating expenses up to $7,000.

The Programmer/Analyst position includes a competitive salary and comprehensive benefit package*. Benefits for this position include but are not limited to the following:
  • 3 weeks of paid vacation. 4 weeks of paid vacation beginning in the 6th year of employment.

Tuition Benefits:

  • College pays 100% tuition only
  • Eligible dependents may be Reimbursed up to $2,000 per semester towards tuition at another accredited institution
