Position Overview

This is a part-time staff position in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. The Director of the Experiential Education (AdhereHealth) Call Center will be responsible for creating an exceptional advanced pharmacy practice experience for PharmD students. The Director will coordinate, schedule, invoice and effectively communicate weekly with AdhereHealth to facilitate a positive work environment and effective workflow within the call center. The Director will also ensure all quality assurance standards and controlled access restrictions documented within the AdhereHealth-Butler contract are met. The Director will foster the relationship between COPHS and AdhereHealth and demonstrate leadership through example and a commitment to patient care and advancement of the profession through the sharing of knowledge and skills in pharmacy practice.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Completes all required onboarding activities and training assigned by AdhereHealth to pharmacists who support the collegiate partnership.
  • Oversees the activities and scheduling of all staff and learners working within the call center.
  • Oversees the orientation and training of learners participating in the Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience course in the AdhereHealth model, and assists with onboarding for AdhereHealth services as appropriate.
  • Plans for and coordinates the daily workload and activities of learners participating in the Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience course in the AdhereHealth model.
  • Coordinates participation in clinical training modules for AdhereHealth services.
  • Oversees performance expectations of learners for Resolve for Employer and/or Resolve for Health Plan services.
  • Evaluates trends in learner performance, related to both clinical application of knowledge and provider engagement, to identify and address areas for improvement.
  • Reviews and communicates feedback of quality improvement reviews performed by AdhereHealth’s team to student pharmacists.
  • Reviews and approves all student pharmacist communications sent to providers, patients, and caregivers.
  • Ensures proper documentation for all provider or patient encounters and communications is entered into the electronic medical record system/platform provided by AdhereHealth.
  • Actively and regularly communicates with AdhereHealth’s team and identifies and escalates issues as necessary for resolution.
  • Regularly facilitates and approves the invoicing of AdhereHealth for services rendered via the call center.
  • Facilitates collaboration between AdhereHealth and Butler via participation in weekly conference calls with AdhereHealth’s team.
  • Provides regular and timely feedback to student pharmacists regarding their performance and participation in call center activities for their Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiential rotation course, and submits all mid-point and final assessments and documentation of hours completed in a timely manner to the Experiential Education Office.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Must possess an appreciation for and a commitment to the College’s mission and goals as they pertain to preparing PharmD students for entry into professional practice.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and show respect for his/her academic and professional colleagues and for learners.
  • Must have at least one year of prior professional experience in the practice of pharmacy.
  • Ideally has a track-record of success in teaching health professions learners, particularly in the experiential setting.
  • Must possess effective written and communication skills.
  • Must possess excellent organizational and time-management skills and attention to detail.
  • Must have an appreciation for the role that technology plays in the field of pharmacy practice.
  • Must have an ability to deal with all situations in a calm and positive manner.
  • Must hold an earned Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college/school of pharmacy in the United States.
  • Must be eligible for or possess active (unrestricted) professional licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Indiana.
