Job Description:

DIVISION: Athletics

DEPARTMENT: Athletics Facility Operations and Events

BASIC FUNCTION:

Under the daily guidance of the Associate Athletics Director for Facility Operations and Events (and the AVP for Campus Services), manage the day-to-day operations of Mahoney Arena including (but not limited to) event management, maintenance/custodial services and scheduling. Direct oversight and management of varsity athletics contests, practices and special events. Collaborate on the management of University, Fairfield Prep and External events with multiple University partners, including (but not limited to) Facilities Management, Public Safety, Conference/Event Services and Alumni/Advancement. In addition, assist with the management of other athletics facilities and events as needed. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: B.S. required. Master’s Degree in related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years of full-time experience in facility operations and event management at the collegiate level, in professional sports and/or with a public entertainment/sports venue. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

SUPERVISION OF PERSONNEL: Work study/Graduate students

REPORTS TO: VP for Athletics with dotted line to VP for Facilities. Daily oversight and guidance provided by Associate AD for Facility Operations/Events and AVP for Campus Services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Coordinator of Operations for Mahoney Arena and Athletics Facilities/Events

1. Manage the day-to-day operations of Mahoney Arena .

2. Coordinate facility set up and breakdown for varsity athletic contests.

3. Manage event operations of athletic varsity athletics contests.

4. Coordinate external service agreements with event staff and other services as needed.

5. Coordinate regular maintenance and custodial services with University Facilities Management.

6. Assist with daily event scheduling of Mahoney Arena and other athletics venues.

7. Manage the storage and maintenance of athletics and campus constituent equipment.

8. Coordinate with necessary University services for the effective management of all Athletics, University, Fairfield Prep and external events and camps.

9. Coordinate dissemination of visiting team guide information and coordinate access with Campus Public Safety.

10. Coordinate management of athletics car /golf cart fleet scheduling and maintenance.

11. Hire, train, and supervise student workers on all aspects of game operations.

12. Required to be present at athletic events

Bachelors degree required . Masters degree preferred
