The President's Office at Pratt Institute is searching for a charismatic, dynamic team member to work at our internationally ranked art and design school, currently led by its first female president. Position Summary:

Reporting to the President's Chief of Staff, with minimum supervision and broad latitude for independent judgment, the individual in this professional and highly confidential position assists the President in all areas of institution administration and provides overall organizational guidance for the office and the President's workload. This prominent position requires a high degree of professionalism and poise.

Position Duties:
  • Management of Office of the President
    • Thoroughly prepare the President for meetings, presentations, events, and more. Exercise utmost discretion and maintain the confidentiality of presidential matters as appropriate.
    • Manage office personnel, workflow, and the physical environment.
    • Assist with research duties, compiling data for presidential reports, presentations, and correspondence.
    • Respond to complex phone, email, and in-person inquiries, requests, complaints, and problems that require deep knowledge of the Institute, extensive follow-up, and extreme sensitivity and confidentiality. Make referrals to appropriate Institute departments as necessary.
    • Disseminate information to students, parents, faculty, and staff.
    • Compose, edit and generate correspondence, reports, agendas, and other documents.
    • Coordinate and serve on Institute committees as appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Budget Management
    • Assist the Chief of Staff with managing the office budget and communications between the President and Board of Trustees, Senior Staff, campus departments, external organizations, agencies, and individuals.
  • Board of Trustee Responsibilities
    • Aid the Assistant Secretary to the Board of Trustees with preparing Board materials, scheduling, note-taking, and disseminating Board information to Trustees and Senior Staff.
    • Take meeting minutes at Senior Staff and Board of Trustee meetings, ensure timely uploading of materials to the Shared Files as appropriate and the digital Board portal, and handle timely distribution of materials to the Trustees and administrators.
    • Organize and coordinate meetings, activities, and events for conferences, receptions, the Board of Trustees, special events, and more.


Salary Range: The base pay range for this position starts in the $80's - high 90's. Pay is based on years of experience and varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.


Qualifications:
Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree, five (5) years of administrative experience supporting a senior-level administrator/officer.

Skills: Exemplary writing, verbal and communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, supervisory, and research skills. Ideal candidate must exhibit proficiency, prioritize tasks efficiently, and consistently follow through with assigned tasks. Proficiency in using various software for generating documents, storing, uploading, and organizing digital files. G-Suite, MS Office Suite, and using Zoom are required.
