Responsibilities
Responsibilities:This position reports to the Assistant Vice President & Registrar under the EnrollmentServices Division. The primary responsibility of this position is to serve as the College'sCertifying Veterans Affairs Official, which includes processing all applications for benefits;certify veterans, and veterans' dependents for educational benefits; certify registration, andcourses enrolled in towards a degree or program, and assist with student eligibility inaccordance with Veterans Administration regulations.

Other responsibilities include applying transfer credit analysis skills to assess academiccredit for degree progress, determine course equivalency from transcript analysis, updatethe equivalency portal, and to determine student athlete eligibility.
1. Oversee, coordinate, and assume responsibility of the daily operations, services, and allactivities related to the Veterans Program. Exercise independent judgment to ensurecompliance with state and federal regulations related to programs and services offered toveterans, active duty personnel, and veterans' dependents.
2. Assume responsibility for state and federal reporting related to Veterans Program servicesand activities including applications, and responding to internal, state, and federal audits.
3. Serve as technical resource, and head of Veterans committee to students and staff; respondto inquiries related to veterans affairs; provide information in an individual and/or groupsetting; interpret and explain federal and state regulations and legislation related to veterans'programs.
4. Oversee the federally funded Veterans Administration Work Study student program; recruit,interview, hire, and train student veterans; develop work assignments and schedules.5. Attends Veterans affairs e-webinars and conferences as necessary to adhere to changes inVA policies and procedures.
6. Reviews and analyzes official coursework received from U.S. Colleges and Universitiesbased on course content and determines transferability of coursework credit.
7. Enters transfer course information into the Colleague student information system to facilitateproper degree audit function for students and advising staff.
8. Maintains and updates the transfer equivalency portal information. Maintains and updateschanges from Community Colleges and Universities for accuracy.
9. Processes and gathers information for Athletics for NCAA Division I Eligibility. Maintain anaccurate record of team rosters in the student information system.

Experience and Qualifications
Education: REQUIRED: BA/BS
Experience: (years required and applicable field of experience): Two (2) + years of increasingly responsible experience working with veterans and adept knowledge of Veterans Administration benefits and resources available to veterans is preferred.

Skills/Abilities: (e.g. computer skills, written & verbal skills, trades, laws, procedures, technical)
Licenses & Certifications (e.g. CPA, RN, etc.): VA School Certifying Official Certified is preferred.
