Position Summary:

• Under direction of the Manager of Accounts Payable, manages the day-to-day activities of Travel Services by reviewing a variety of travel documents for compliance with rules and regulations
• Investigate and initiate problem areas, assist in development and implementation of new technologies to maintain industry standards, assist in development of strategic initiatives
• Apply initiatives to the disbursement and accounting process in order to meet department goals, maintain general ledger account activities; and assist the Manager with special projects.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent Two years full-time clerical accounting experience or equivalency to include:

• Analyzing and interpreting financial information
• Using financial software programs, such as computerized accounting systems or spreadsheet software
• Working in a team-oriented environment with a high degree of emphasis on customer service
• Interpreting, applying and explaining procedures and/or policies to others

Preferred Qualifications:

• Willing to work in a high-volume office environment
• Bachelor in Business or other related field
  
  Experience:
  • 2 or more years of experience in an accounting department, preferable in the public sector
  • Allocating expenditures and reconciling accounts
  • Maintaining accounts and accounting systems; developing internal controls
  • Preparing reports, financial statements, projections and schedules requiring financial analysis
