Position Summary:
Serving on the Career Services Leadership Team, the Assistant Director for Employer Relations: Outreach and Development is responsible for strengthening collaborative partnerships with state, regional, national, and international employers in order to increase internships, professional experiences, graduate school, and career opportunities for UI students and graduates.

Being responsive to the needs of Idaho's employers and students, the Assistant Director will work collaboratively with the Career Services Director, Employer Relations staff, Co-op Director, and UI-branch center directors to accomplish the following goals:
  • Create and implement a plan for relationship-building focusing on employers from the state of Idaho and the Northwest with the potential for professional experiences, graduate school, and career positions that compliment UI majors and degree programs.
  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to increase connections and networking opportunities between students and employers.
  • Assist employers in strengthening their internship programs and streamlining their access to qualified internship candidates.



The Assistant Director will also lead the department's fundraising and development efforts through Career Services' Distinguished Employer Partnership Program (DEP), as well as the department's assessment plan by assisting with the collection employer outreach data, and writing reports and recommendations based on this data.

This position will be housed at the UI-Boise Center or the Moscow Campus and will report to the Career Services Director on the Moscow campus.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree
  • Two years professional experience working in recruitment, human resources, talent management or other related experience
  • One year of professional experience in event planning and development/fundraising
  • Experience with program planning and implementation
  • Experience providing formal and informal presentations to small and large groups to a variety of constituents


Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
  • Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Business, Public Relations, Marketing, Human Resources, Communications, or related field• Professional work experience in a university career services office or employer relations role



Experience:
  • Experience managing career services database systems (i.e. Handshake, Symplicity, 12Twenty, CSO, or other job search databases)
  • Strong technical/computer experience, including the experience using software such as Access, Excel, video conferencing programs (Zoom) and on-line survey programs (Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, etc.
  • Experience developing a process for assessment, collecting/analyzing data, and preparing reports and recommendations

Skills/knowledge/Ability to:
  • Past success in development/fundraising efforts
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and independently
  • Ability to professionally represent Career Services
  • Strong organization skills


Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:



Required Licensures, Certifications or other
  • Must be eligible for membership in NACE, MPACE, CEDA, SWEDA,ICDA, Meeting Professionals International (MPI), and Moscow and Boise Chambers of Commerce as budget allows.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule during select mornings, evenings and weekends to address event needs.
  • Ability to travel regionally, in-state and out-of-state on a periodic basis.
