COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course presents foundational knowledge of therapeutic exercise for the purpose of improving neuromusculoskeletal impairments. Areas covered include safety related to therapeutic exercise interventions, application of exercise prescription to modes of exercise, implementing exercise techniques for improved range of motion and flexibility, neural mobilization, muscle performance and resistance exercise, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), aquatic exercise, therapeutic balance activities, and Home Exercise Program (HEP). Communication, documentation, and motivational interviewing will be included.
