The Department of Radiological Sciences at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) is looking for a diagnostic medical physicist to join our faculty of 5 board-certified physicists. Responsibilities include clinical diagnostic services, teaching and research. Roughly two-thirds of the time will be spent with clinical responsibilities within our organization that covers all imaging modalities – radiography, fluoroscopy, CT, mammography, nuclear medicine, US and MRI.  Clinical responsibilities include routine testing, acceptance testing, shielding design and certification, participation in planning and equipment selection, along with providing on-site radiation safety guidance.

The Department of Radiological Sciences offers a CAMPEP-accredited Graduate Medical Physics Program as well as an Imaging Physics Residency. Teaching courses in the medical physics curriculum, guiding student research and training Diagnostic Physics Residents is required of all medical physics faculty. In addition, the faculty participates in Radiology Resident teaching. Research leading to grants and publications is also expected of the Medical Physics Faculty.

The ideal candidate should possess strong technical and communication skills along with experience in clinical diagnostic physics, research and teaching. Candidates for this position must have Ph.D. in medical physics or a related field. ABR/ABMP certification in Diagnostic Physics and MQSA qualifications are required. Research publications in medical physics, teaching experience, teamwork and enthusiasm are important Experience in nuclear medicine is a plus. This job requires working with physicians, residents as well as graduate students in medical physics. Salary and appointment are commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications.
