    The CSUSB College of Education has prepared a broad range of educators for many decades. Beginning with classroom teachers, to Counselors, school Psychologists, Rehabilitation Counselors, Career Technical Education teachers, Instructional Technology experts and School Site Administrators. The university's only doctoral program is housed in the College of Education. The broad reach of our programs has led to a significant impact across the Inland Empire region as our teachers, counselors, psychologists and administrators can be found in almost every school site in the Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.     Job Summary

    Located in the Jim and Judy Watson Office of Student Services in the College of Education, the Program Admissions Technician processes program admissions applications for the Multiple Subject, Single Subject and Education Specialist credential programs.

    Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Assisting students with the submission of the Program Admission File (P.A.F.). Answering general inquiries and verifying completeness of the required P.A.F. documents according to the College of Education (C.O.E.) Program, California State University San Bernardino, California State University Chancellor's Office, Commission on Teacher Credentialing (C.T.C.) policies and regulations.
    • Maintaining current knowledge regarding C.T.C. policies and regulations.
    • Creating and maintaining student files for C.O.E. basic programs (Education Specialist, Multiple Subject and Single Subject).
    • Collaborating with Program Coordinators and attend program/department meetings.
    • Processing Intern Eligibility Applications.
    • Maintaining contact with students and program coordinators as needed.
    • Notifying students of admissions status.
    • Update and maintain Program Admission forms, applications, and webpages.


    Employment Status: Full-time, Probationary, "Non-Exempt" position (with the possibility of converting to permanent).

    Work Schedule

    Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Weekends and evenings may be required.

    Key Qualifications
    • Reading and comprehending, writing, communicating verbally, reasoning and analyzing.
    • Experience to be fully functional in all technical aspects of work assignments.
    • Thorough, detailed knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
    • Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
    • Thorough knowledge of office systems and ability to use a broader range of technology, systems, and packages.
    • Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects.
    • Ability to apply independently a wide variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not exist.
    • Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures.
    • Ability to perform standard business math, such as calculate ratios and percentages, track financial data, and
      make simple projections.
    • Ability to draft and compose correspondence and standard reports.
    • Ability to handle effectively a broader range of interpersonal contacts, including those at a higher level and those sensitive in nature.


    Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent AND three years of progressively responsible experience in general office clerical or secretarial work or the equivalent.
    • Valid CA drivers' license and insurance.

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Administrative support work experience within Higher Education.
  • Experience with People Soft.
  • Experience working with databases.
  • Experience working with admissions management systems.

  • Salary

    Anticipated Hiring Range: $3,276 - $3,500 per month

    Classification Salary Range: $3,276 - $5,148 per month
