Job Description

The Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech is seeking a talented and experienced Associate Director of Marketing & Advertising. This position reports to the Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and is responsible for all marketing and advertising activities for the Pamplin College of Business Graduate programs housed in the Greater D.C. Region. He or she will be responsible for advertising campaign management to increase enrollments. As the primary liaison for campaign management, he or she will be responsible for identifying opportunities and developing plans to increase student enrollments using capture management strategies, paid media contract negotiation/university legal compliance, market research/competitive intelligence, strategy and implementation of marketing and advertising and content production management across the MIT, MBA, MSBA-HTM, and other programs. Working with the MIT Associate Director/Director and Director of Marketing, contribute to identifying business development opportunities for corporate/academic partnerships to increase student enrollment (e.g. co-branded information sessions, articulation agreements, and co-branded certificates) and creation and optimization of the pipeline. Specific duties include: Budgeting and efficient allocation of advertising and marketing resources; Asset delivery and scheduling; Working closely with the director of marketing and recruitment to develop advertising strategies to increase program pipelines for RFI and submitted applications; Support the management information sessions and recruitment events (online/in-person); Manage production of creative assets with both internal stakeholders and external vendors; Vendor management, including invoicing/billing, and vendor and new opportunity evaluation; Engage in campaign performance assessment to continuously evaluate perceptions of target markets, providing data, interpretation and strategic insights to Associate Dean and program leadership; Maintain data and reporting regarding marketing/advertising efforts relative to the enrollment funnel including leads, applications, admissions, and enrollments of programs; Program support as needed, including inbound and outbound prospect and applicant communications.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree or a Bachelor's degree with work experience which may equate to an advance degree; extensive experience in marketing, advertising, and recruitment of graduate students; proven track record in developing and executing marketing and advertising plans, fiscal management; Basic HTML skills for web editing and management; flexibility to travel as needed, including some weekends; excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills; passionate about learning and the value of graduate programs; demonstrated ability to work independently and cooperatively with staff and faculty to achieve results.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in business from an accredited college or equivalent degree program; substantial experience in an academic setting is highly desirable; demonstrable success in advertising, student recruitment and enrollment management, business development of corporate/academic partnerships, marketing research and analysis, project planning, forecasting, student admission process management; comfortable with technology for web-based recruiting initiatives; significant marketing and advertising experience.
