Valparaiso University invites applications for the position of Lilly Postdoctoral Fellow, in the Christ College Honors College. Valparaiso University (“Valpo”), a community of learning grounded in the Lutheran tradition of scholarship, freedom, and faith, prepares students to lead and serve both church and society. Located one hour southeast of Chicago on a 310-acre campus, Valpo is a comprehensive university with an enrollment of approximately 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Valpo is consistently recognized as one of the best private universities in the Midwest and is located in Valparaiso Indiana, a county seat of 30,000 residents with high quality schools and an active social community.

We offer up to two two-year residential postdoctoral teaching fellowships in all areas of the Humanities and the Arts for 2023-2025 for scholars seriously considering academic careers in church‑related institutions. Ph.D., D.M.A., D.F.A., M.F.A., or equivalent terminal degree must have been received no earlier than December, 2021. Fellows will teach eight courses over a two‑year period, engage in scholarship or creative work, participate in a two‑year colloquium, work with a VU faculty mentor, and interact with representatives from a national network of church‑related institutions. Faculty privileges, $50,715 stipend per year plus benefits, professional fund.
