ATTENTION:

The Andersen Library at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater seeks a Business Librarian (Librarian II - Research, LM002).

Academic staff positions are provided fixed term appointments with annual renewals unless otherwise noted. Reappointment for subsequent terms is dependent upon performance, university funding and external forces.



JOB DETAILS:

The position serves as a librarian liaison to all departments within the College of Business and Economics, providing synchronous and asynchronous information literacy instruction, course research support, and collection development, primarily for the College of Business and Economics. The position collaborates on information literacy instruction and reference responsibilities with the Instruction Librarians.



QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

· Master’s of Library/Information Science degree or relevant Master’s degree

· Information literacy instruction or other teaching experience

· Experience or education in business related fields

· Ability to work under general supervision applying a variety of complex rules and procedures with close attention to detail.

· Excellent computer skills, e.g., skill with software such as Adobe Creative Cloud, web page creation and maintenance, digitization hardware and software, and search engine usage.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Knowledge of, or ability to learn, library services, processes, searching of library catalogs and databases, and circulation systems.

· Bilingual or familiarity with Spanish language

· Awareness of higher education inclusion and equity initiatives

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication.

· Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, administrators, staff, and students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.

· Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides information literacy for the College of Business and Economics and participates in the information literacy program, including subject related areas or as needed

· Serves as liaison with the College of Business and Economics, including promoting library resources and services to the college faculty, staff, and students.

· Develops relationships with faculty and administrators to further the Library’s mission to support the University’s teaching, research, and public service.

· Develops instructional and outreach tools including library user guides, web pages, and tutorials.

· Assists with collection development with liaison departments.

Provides Reference and Instructional services in collaboration with other librarians

· Provides in-person and virtual reference assistance to University of Wisconsin-Whitewater faculty, students, and staff and other library users at the Reference Desk and via telephone, email and online chat.

· Assists in the development of instructional and outreach tools including library user guides, webpages, and tutorials.

· Serves regular rotating service desk hours and relieves staff during temporary schedule conflicts.

· Participates in departmental assessment projects and in application of assessment.

· Develops or coordinates specialized projects or programs

Conducts daily responsibilities that align to department, library, and university strategic priorities

· Participates in committees and professional development opportunities.

· Participates in Reference & Instruction and Andersen Library decision-making and planning, serving on Library, University, community, and professional committees as appropriate.

· Performs other functions as requested.
