Serves as the Athletics Facilities & Events Management unit leader, responsible for the oversight of all aspects of Athletics Department facilities and grounds as well as event management.
  1. Functions as head of the Events Management services team ensuring event operations are safe, timely, efficient, successful and repeatable from event to event.
  2. For all athletic facilities & grounds, ensures coordination of facilities schedules, building security, oversight of building systems and proper maintenance of athletics facilities, custodial and grounds services.
  3. Engages and holds accountable service providers to ensure proper custodial and maintenance.
  4. Develops and executes event management plans for all home athletic events related to our 17 NCAA sports as well as other events hosted in/around Athletics Facilities. Manage internal and external constituents and event service providers (including but not limited to, Parking Services, Police/Fire, emergency services, security/patron services, etc.) resulting in event operations that are successful and repeatable.
  5. Directs responsibility for facility operations and event operations budgets. Recommends and supports future budget planning for athletic facilities through identification of functional enhancements and deferred maintenance needs.
  6. Supervises assigned staff to deliver successful facility management & event operations.
  7. Serves as a primary emergency management contact for Athletics Department in the event of natural disasters or other emergency events.
  8. In all settings and in all situations, serves as a positive Ambassador for UH Athletics and UH in general. Effuses positivity and grows affinity for all things UH.
  9. Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications :

Bachelors and 5 years experience

Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.Experience: Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
