Overview

The Assistant Director of Subcontracts for the Space Physics Group is a leadership position managing a portfolio of subcontracts for NASA research projects. The Assistant Director, Subcontracts will become an integral part of the Space Physics Group at Princeton University, where investigators seek to unlock mysteries of the universe using research instruments that are launched into space. NASA space flight research missions are complex, multi-year projects that involve hundreds of people across dozens of institutions supported by federal contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

We are looking for an exceptional, experienced individual who will take initiative, working in close collaboration with multiple stakeholders on and off campus, to ensure the overall effective coordination of subcontract administration services, systems, policies, and processes for the Space Physics Group.

The Assistant Director, Subcontracts will be the lead for financial and nonfinancial compliance matters related to the Space Physics subcontract portfolio. The Space Physics Group will rely on the Assistant Director’s expertise in federal contracting and NASA-specific regulations, policies and business practices. The successful incumbent will apply knowledge of federal contracting (FAR clauses) to determine required flow-down terms, negotiate agreements, manage the life-cycle of subcontracts, and report to the Space Physics Group leadership and NASA sponsor as needed.

A remote work arrangement may be considered for a candidate with the appropriate background and experience.
