Provide accounting and administrative support for Campus Planning, Design and Construction Senior Project managers, Assistant and Associate directors and the Director of Budget, Finance and Administrative Services. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred or a minimum of five years accounting and administrative experience Job Specific Qualifications
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office required
  • Experience in Peoplesoft suite of financial applications strongly preferred
  • University experience preferred
  • Sponsored/Grant Accounting preferred
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, and strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge in construction project administration and accounting
  • Strong communication, problem solving, analytical, independent thinking, judgment, writing and decision-making skills and professionalism.
  • Ability to formulate, affect, interpret, and implement management and operating policies
Responsibilities
Responsible for supporting the CPDC project management team with all tasks associated with the administrative/accounting setup, running, coordination, tracking and closeout of capital design and construction projects. The Senior Project Accountant will be expected to work with multiple Project Managers on multiple large projects to ensure timely and accurate audit, review and execution of contractor payment applications and invoices. Develop and maintain accurate reporting formats including cost and commitment records on current projects and to confirm financial reports reconcile to the Peoplesoft suite of financial systems on an ongoing basis.

Continually monitor and analyze contractor billings to ensure the University is billed and remits payment in a timely manner and review outstanding commitments that should be closed upon completion of the services and/or the project.

Reconcile project accounting transactions for each grant/sponsored award project to the general ledger and ensure they are compliant, appropriate and meet all timing and expense nature restrictions acceptable under the grant/sponsored ward restrictions. Compile and report on Minority, Women Business Enterprise participation as required.

Collaborate with the Offices of Sponsored Programs and Sponsored Accounting, Project Managers, Budget Director, principal investigators, government agencies, consultants, contractors, and other involved parties in order to prepare, compile and submit grant submission packages required for reimbursement under the
grant/sponsored award agreement.

Respond to inquiries from outside vendors, contractors and University departments requesting financial documentation.
