Position Summary
The Department of Biology in the College of Arts and Sciences at North Central College invites applications for a part-time instructor in Biostatistics, to begin January 9, 2023. The successful candidate will teach a single course in Biostatistics in Spring 2023. This two-hour course will meet in-person MWF from 12:00-1:05 p.m., for the first eight weeks of the semester, January 9 through March 1. This is a course for sophomore Biology majors. It covers probability, analysis of variance/covariance, correlation, regression, and non-parametric statistical measures. It could be taught using SPSS or R; course materials from previous semesters are available for both options. The course is expected to enroll 24 students and would be taught in a computer lab. Compensation for this course would be approximately $2000, depending on experience.
Preferred and considered qualifications. Applicants must demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students.
