Position Summary

The Department of Communication, University at Buffalo (UB), The State University of New York, seeks to hire two (2) Full, Associate, or Assistant Professors of Communication (open-rank, tenure-track positions) for the Fall 2023 term, contingent upon funding.

We are particularly interested in candidates whose work falls under the broad theme of information integrity, to complement existing core strengths in the department. We welcome candidates with expertise in health communication, science communication, political communication, misinformation correction, social influence, media effects, or related topics. The department has a primarily quantitative orientation, with expertise in measurement and data analytic procedures in the scientific study of human communication processes. UB has also established a Center for Information Integrity to encourage interdisciplinary work in this area.

Candidates should hold an earned doctorate in COM (or related field) and applicants are expected to show evidence of high quality scholarship with potential for external funding. Faculty in COM conduct original scholarship, teach 2 courses per semester (2/2 load; 4 per year), advise MA and PhD students, and participate in service at the department, university and discipline levels.

Salary and start-up will be competitive and commensurate with rank.
