Primary Purpose of Position:
The Division of Institutional Advancement advances a culture of philanthropy through the engagement of alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents, and friends (both individually and in the corporate community) in support of the Institution's mission of preparing students to become global leaders and practitioners who transform communities. By using creative strategies to enhance the University's image, the office promotes the overall mission of North Carolina Central University to its external public in order to solicit and acquire philanthropic support.
Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and 3 - 5 years of progressively related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with Raiser’s Edge preferred, must have experience with donor data management within a higher education or nonprofit setting.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong ability to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, resolve problems, follow through and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner.
- Ability to create professional development plans for staff that aligns with the strategic
- goals of the department.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with current fundraising practices and accounting principles
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and a high degree of accuracy in donor records.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of data update procedures and recommend
- more effective data maintenance and update mechanisms and functions if required.
