Job Description:

SUNY Empire State College seeks a Military Outreach and Enrollment Supervisor (State Title: Senior Staff Assistant) to oversee all outreach and recruitment efforts for the Office of Veteran and Military Education (OVME).  Responsibilities will include management of Outreach staff and enrollment student funnel; lead management for the state of New York, and the promotion of programs and services for service members, veterans and family members.  The selected applicant must be able to work collaboratively with other Empire State College staff located throughout the world.  Travel to military education fairs and events, mainly in the state of New York with occasional travel outside the state will be required.  Planning and preparation of marketing campaign and promotional items; management of inquiries within region, follow-up, analysis, and oversight of OVME Customer Relationship Management (CRM) reporting and communication; identification of new markets and partnership opportunities; development of relationships with military and veteran organizations are also among the responsibilities of this position.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a related field such as admissions or recruitment in a higher education setting
  • Understanding of the military lifestyle
  • Prior management experience
  • Prior customer relations management (CRM) databases experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with VA and DOD compliance and funding requirements especially as it relates to recruitment and enrollment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Familiarity with military bases and veteran organizations in the state of New York
  • Pre-enrollment advising
  • Navy program experience

Special Information:

  • This position will be located at one of the SUNY Empire State College regional locations in Hartsdale, Saratoga Springs, New York City or on Long Island
  • Frequent travel is required especially in the New York City/Long Island area
  • VISA sponsorship is not available for this position

Additional Information:

Rank/Salary: SL3 / $60,000.
