Graduate Endodontics Program Director – West Virginia University Health Sciences Center

West Virginia University School of Dentistry, Morgantown, WV is seeking applications for a full-time, clinical or tenure track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level as Program Director of the Advanced Education Program in Endodontics.

Primary responsibilities will be to administer the twenty-six month postdoctoral program in Endodontics, which includes three first year and three second year post-doctoral graduate students. The Director will oversee all academic, clinical, and research tasks that enable successful applicants to earn an Endodontics Certificate as well as a Master of Science (M.S.) degree. This multi-faceted position involves direct clinical supervision as well as conducting extensive reviews of both current and classic literature, evaluation of completed post-doctoral cases and coordination of academic programs with all departments in the School of Dentistry and the Health Sciences Center. Additionally, the Director will support the Chairman of the Department by instructing predoctoral students at all levels, including didactic and clinical involvement. All faculty members are expected to engage in research and pursue personal growth within the School of Dentistry.

Qualifications :

The candidate must have a D.D.S. or D.M.D degree from an accredited U.S. or Canadian dental school or a foreign equivalent and satisfactory completion of a CODA accredited postgraduate training program in Endodontics. The candidate must be certified by the American Board of Endodontics and be eligible for a West Virginia dental license by their first day of employment. The applicant must have a record of successful clinical practice and teaching in an academic context, as well as strong interpersonal and communication abilities. Candidates for appointment as Associate Professor or Professor for the tenure track must have documented evidence of significant contributions in research and teaching or service, and reasonable contributions in service. Candidates for appointment as Associate Professor or Professor for the clinical track must have documented evidence of significant contributions in teaching and service and reasonable contributions in scholarly activity. Determination of faculty salary and academic rank is within the purview of the Dean and the Faculty Evaluation Committee and will be commensurate with qualifications.

West Virginia University School of Dentistry is located in the historic community of Morgantown, West Virginia. Located only 80 miles south of Pittsburgh, Morgantown is easily accessible to major metropolitan areas in the East and Midwest.

The School of Dentistry is one of 14 colleges in a major, land-grant research University and is part of a comprehensive Health Sciences Center which includes the Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Public Health, the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center and West Virginia University Hospitals. The Health Sciences Center campus is also the home of the new Blanchette Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and a new Library/Learning Resource Center.
