Director, School of Nursing

Missouri State University and the faculty of the School of Nursing invite applications and nominations for the position of Director of the School of Nursing. The Director is a key member of the leadership team of the McQueary College of Health and Human Services. The College consists of 11 academic units, including the School of Nursing. The Director provides leadership for the School of Nursing.

Responsibilities include leading through inclusive team building and promoting cohesiveness and a culture that values diverse views and perspectives. The Director leads and manages the School of Nursing; collaborates on curricular and fiscal management; ensures ongoing program review and development, evaluation, and accreditation; participates in student recruitment, admissions, advisement, evaluation, fundraising and alumni relations; mentors faculty in teaching, research, service, and grant writing; guides faculty and staff supervision and evaluation; participates in teaching, research, and service; and performs other duties as required.

The position requires an earned doctorate in nursing or related academic field (PhD, EdD, DNSc, DNP, etc.) with relevant academic and clinical experience; a graduate degree in nursing if the earned doctorate is in a field other than nursing; eligibility for Missouri RN licensure; a sustained record of scholarship including peer-reviewed publications; commitment to obtaining and managing grants and other external funding, and a record of teaching excellence.

The position is a twelve- month appointment. Start date is July 1, 2023.  Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
