Job Summary

The Division of Workforce Partnerships is looking for process technology teacher assistants to assist in their proprietary workforce trainings. CCRI is seeking process technology professionals, preferably with some teaching experience, to join the academic team at our Westerly satellite location on a part-time basis.
The teacher assistant will be responsible for assisting the instructor with all learning outcomes of our programs and will focus on student development and preparation for the process technology industry.
The teacher assistant will work side-by-side with instructors and program leadership to ensure that courses have successful outcomes and that students receive a high-quality education. This role is in response to employer demand and can include day, evening, and/or weekend hours.
The process technology teacher assistant will be responsible for communicating what shifts they are available to work and ensuring that they are able to work all classes that they agree to instruct.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Assist in the classroom and hands-on instruction in our proprietary process technology curriculum.
· Keep work plans, equipment, and lab assignments organized for the instructor.
· Provide one-to-one mentoring and teaching of students.
· Use technology to communicate effectively with students and colleagues and assist with program record-keeping and reporting requirements.
· Work creatively in all classes taught to discourage student withdrawal and maintain satisfactory retention.
· Understand the Americans with Disabilities Act ( ADA ) and adhere to CCRI’s policies and procedures for responding to student requests for accommodations.
· Assist in keeping organized records of students’ attendance, assessments, and progress, including a final evaluation.
· Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
· Attend regular teacher assistant trainings (minimum of 2 per year) · Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

· Experience in the process technology industry for a minimum of 5 years
· Experience in either traditional instruction, peer training, or on-the-job mentoring
· Interest in preparing and training the next generation of entry-level process technology staff
· Intermediate digital communication technology skills (presentation tools, online meetings, etc.)
· Experience with classroom/team management
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Proficient in the use of technology, including Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, primarily), email, and the internet for instruction and program purposes
· Creativity and flexibility in the classroom are expected

Competencies

· Associates Degree or above
· Experience working with a diverse student population
· Experience in the process technology industry for 10+ years
· Teaching experience in similar post-secondary programs
