Department Information: The Liberal Studies Program provides undergraduate students a broad-based liberal arts experience typically undertaken as preparation for future k-8 teachers and educational specialists. Its interdisciplinary curriculum is based on a conception of a well-educated person and what it means to be a culturally competent and anti-racist educator within a complex, diverse, and pluralistic democracy. Position Description: The successful candidate will teach and design undergraduate courses within the Liberal Studies Program related to dual language education and the schooling of Latinx students alongside significant service/leadership responsibilities within the Program and community, Duties may also include teaching and course development within the University's Bilingual Authorization Program (Spanish/English). The successful candidate will also establish a strong record of scholarship/creative activity within the field of dual/bilingual education.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching undergraduates from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds, including first-generation students.
• Doctoral Degree or ABD in Bilingual/Dual Language Education or a closely related field (July 2023 Graduation Date)
• Minimum of three year of public-school teaching experience in K-8 with at least one year in a dual language/bilingual education placement
• Hold a valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (with a BILA, BCLAD, or BCC Emphasis) or its equivalent from another state.
• Proficiency in written and spoken Spanish
• Demonstrated record or of potential for scholarly activity
• Record of service (or ability to serve) program, university, and community
• Leadership experience or demonstrated potential to lead

Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong content specific expertise in reading/literacy or within a STEM field
• A record of successful university teaching experience
• Experience with instructional technology
• Experience with university-school district partnerships
• Experience with community engagement and outreach at the regional and state levels.
• Potential to provide professional development for educational professionals in local regions and beyond

Compensation: Salary and rank are dependent on qualifications and experience. CSUB offers a generous benefits package (e.g., excellent health, dental, vision, and retirement benefits.)
