Summary/Objective

This position provides academic advising to undergraduate students in the School of International Service (SIS), teaching them to become progressively more responsible for their academic planning from orientation through graduation. This position will also support SIS students planning to study abroad. The individual in this role will also participate in projects and initiatives with offices across campus that recruit and retain undergraduate students. This position reports directly to the Director of Undergraduate Academic Advising.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
  • The SIS Undergraduate Office core hours are 10am-4pm.
  • This position would be expected to work at least four days per week (ideally five), during these core hours including a 1-hour lunch break.
  • Hours of work per week: 27 hours.
Required Education and Experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Strong student support focus required.
  • Must have strong interpersonal, collaborative, organizational and external representation skills.
  • Attention to detail is required along with initiative, drive, flexibility, capacity for detail and ability to excel in a multicultural environment.
  • Must have strong computer skills including proficiency using complex databases to maintain and audit information.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience supporting undergraduate students.
