The University of Washington, Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine is recruiting one (1) full-time general cardiologist.  The position will be at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level, without tenure by reason of funding. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments and Associate Professor and Full Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that all align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The position would be primarily based at Harborview Medical Center and most or all of clinical work will be done at Harborview Medical Center, including inpatient service and outpatient clinic.  Opportunities for imaging may be an option, and clinical time at University of Washington Medical Center may be an option for those with subspecialty interests suited to that center.  The successful candidate will be expected to engage in education and scholarship.  Teaching will include inpatient attending with fellows and residents, including bedside and didactic teaching, as well as opportunities in the outpatient and imaging labs. Mentorship of fellows is also expected, whether informal or formal. Scholarly work would ideally be related to the mission of Harborview Medical Center.  Anticipated start date will be May 1, 2023.

The base salary range for this position will be $16,250-$33,333 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position may include an administrative salary supplement (ADS), moonlighting opportunities, and incentive through UW Physicians practice plan.

All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. 

 

 

 

Applicants must have an MD degree (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified/eligible in cardiovascular diseases, or foreign equivalent. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
