JOB SUMMARY:

The PsyD Program in Clinical Psychology, Health Emphasis, within the School of Health Sciences of Touro University invites applications for a full-time position to join a growing and energetic program. This position involves an appointment in the PsyD Program in the Touro University School of Health Sciences at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position is effective July 1, 2023. The successful candidate will have both clinical and research experiences appropriate for faculty in a clinical psychology doctoral program (specialty open). The University places a high priority on teaching excellence and research success with an expectation that the candidate will also be active in their professional field.

The Touro University PsyD Program in Clinical Psychology has a health emphasis and combines a strong focus on evidence-based clinical practice, in both traditional and integrative health care settings, with a commitment to the idea that research should inform practice and practice should inform research. The successful candidate will be expected to support our PsyD program through: a) teaching two doctoral courses per semester in both Fall and Spring semesters; b) engaging in doctoral student advising and mentoring; c) leading a research lab that allows for developing an independent and ongoing line of research (evidence of potential to secure extramural funding strongly preferred) and supervising and mentoring doctoral dissertations; d) collaborating with other programs and schools within Touro University (including the potential for a joint appointment with Touro University’s New York Medical College, and e) University service.  This search will begin immediately and will be completed when a suitable candidate is identified. The Touro PsyD program is in the early stages of the APA accreditation process and intends to pursue such accreditation at the earliest possible time.
