Community College of Philadelphia is seeking to fill an Office Administrative Associate position. Reporting to the Assistant Dean, the Office Administrative Associate provides administrative and clerical support for the administrators, program chairs, coordinators, faculty and staff in the Division of Math, Science, and Health Careers. Under general supervision, this position requires the use of independent judgment, initiative and decision-making, while providing clerical support and the coordination of tasks and activities related to the effective operations of the Math, Science, and Health Careers academic programs. The Office Administrative Associate works collaboratively with various College departments, staff and faculty to provide quality customer service to visitors and guests.

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent (e.g., GED) required.

  • Five (5) years of clerical work experience in an office environment is required.

  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel required.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information required.

  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing required.

  • Ability to organize and plan work effectively with attention to detail required.

  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills required.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with strong organizational skills required.

  • Ability to maintain sensitivity, understanding and respect for a diverse academic environment inclusive of students, faculty and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological and ethnic backgrounds required.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree preferred. Any and all degrees must be from a recognized institutional accreditor.

  • Previous clerical experience in higher education preferred.
  • Prior experience working with Banner or equivalent student information system preferred.
