Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Success and Dean of the University College, the position will have responsibility for providing leadership, vision, and administrative oversight for all aspects of the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies Program. Through best practices research, the BIS Program Director provides data-driven undergraduate solutions that target qualified prospective students and builds relationships throughout the search, application, and yield process. Tasks include strategic oversight, recruiting, advising, marketing, program development, curriculum oversight and development, data analysis, technical assistance, and technical training for faculty and staff. The director will develop the BIS program profile on campus by encouraging departmental participation, ensuring that the curriculum dovetails with the university’s general education requirements, and establishing programmatic assessment procedures.

Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:  Terminal degree in appropriate discipline area – prior administrative and teaching experience in higher education setting.

Management Preferences:  Academic advising experience. Experience working with nontraditional students. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, such as faculty, staff, students, and administrators. University teaching experience. Evidence of excellent planning, organizational, customer service, and leadership skills. Experience with data analysis, predictive analytics, and educational research methodology. Demonstrated ability to work independently, think creatively, and set and achieve measurable goals.
