The Gupta College of Science at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Physics in the Department of Physics and Engineering Science to begin August 16, 2023.
We are seeking a physicist who can contribute to the development of the curriculum and future direction of the Applied Physics program and the Physics and Engineering Science Department. Specifically, experimental or astronomy physicists are preferred. Applicants should be teacher-scholars with interest in current physics teaching pedagogies and should have plans to establish undergraduate research agendas. The individuals hired will be expected to teach courses throughout the Applied Physics curriculum, with an emphasis on introductory courses, and may have the opportunity to develop upper-level courses in the areas of their expertise. Start-up funds will be available to establish a research agenda that incorporates undergraduate students.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Physics, Astronomy, or a related field with a strong background in physics either through an additional master’s degree or relevant experience.
