GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Helps and assists students with their accounts and other requests dealing with other areas of the Finance Division. Responsible for all aspects of third-party billing and waiver programs and for reviewing and validating students' vouchers through employers/sponsors within the student account financial system; reconcile and invoice third party vendors; receive and post payments to students' accounts accordingly; communicate with students' employers and government agency to exchange information and resolve issues.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
SCHEDULE : Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
(Generally, with occasional shift work)
Work hours require flexibility
RETIREMENT : Pension Eligible.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
- Accountable for all aspects of the third-party billing and collections, Veteran payments, Chargeback billing and waiver programs.
- Maintains all third-party systems and prepares required reporting.
- Works closely with the financial aid department to ensure all student sponsorships are identified.
- Follow up with third party sponsors to determine the eligibility of the student refund.
- Applies third party and Veteran payments timely and reconciles student accounts with the third-party systems.
- Responsible for prompt and accurate posting of incoming Department Payments and reconcile and prepare the deposit.
- Manage In-county and Out of County Chargeback billing and waivers.
- Request third party payments after reconciling charges on student accounts.
- Processes approved adjustments to student accounts.
- Responsible for management of credit card disputes, returned checks payments, tracking uncashed refund checks and any needed check voids in the process to stop a check.
- Assists in the process of review for possible escheatment of funds.
- Actively engages with the billing processes and collection efforts.
- Assists with the refund of student payments process.
- Assist with student inquires and 1098-T tuition statement inquires.
- Provides student records to other finance department staff when requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate Degree;
- Three years of experience in reconciliation/analysis work; and
- Strong Microsoft Office skills with advanced knowledge of and experience using Excel with data extraction skills and Word.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field;
- Knowledge of financial system such as Colleague;
- Knowledge of student accounts processing and reporting; and
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with an ability to multitask.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Visual Acuity: Have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; and/or extensive reading.
- Visual Acuity 3: Visual Acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
