Job Description:

The Associate Director, Rocket Solution Central (RSC) position is highly complex, requiring detailed knowledge of a multitude of disciplines including, but not limited to, Student Financial Aid, Treasurer, Registrar, Admission, Auxiliary Services, and Residence Life. The primary function of this position is to provide active management resulting in high quality direct customer service to students, their families, and the UT community.

RSC provides integrated direct customer service support on behalf of the “home offices” of Student Financial Aid, Treasurer, and Registrar. The Associate Director is responsible for maintaining and continuously improving customer service, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiencies. The Associate Director provides direct supervision, scheduling, evaluation, and training of Direct Service Providers, intermittent call-in staff, and student assistants, to ensure that they have the knowledge and skills required for success.
The Associate Director acts on the Director’s behalf within RSC and on various University committees; delivers presentations at events including, but not limited to, orientation programs, recruitment programs, and high school financial aid nights; and is a valuable contributor to student success.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education/experience/licensing:
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
• At least 3 years of supervisory experience
• Demonstrated exceptional customer service experience
• At least 3 years of experience working in an Integrated Services, Student Financial Aid, Registrar, or Student Accounts office
Communication and other skills:
• Strong organizational skills
• Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures related to enrollment, financial aid, registration, and billing processes
• Outstanding communication and customer service skills
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment within a framework of fairness and consistency regarding matters that may result in adjustments to student financial aid awards, eligibility status, and/or enrollment
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Ability to work in a diverse environment
