Position Summary
The Facilities Services Office Specialist provides administrative and customer service support to University Housing's Facilities Services Department, which employs approximately 100 custodial and maintenance staff. This position supports six Facilities Services Managers by providing administrative support and completing operational tasks, such as scheduling and set-up of meetings, communications, inventory control, and assisting with summer operations.
This is a full-time, 12-month position and is supervised by the Facilities Customer Service and Work Control Manager.
Minimum Requirements
- Two years of general clerical experience. One year of which
included typing, word processing, or other experience generating
documents; OR
- An Associate's degree in Office Occupations or Office
Technology; OR
- Graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate
in Office Occupations or Office Technology AND one year of general
clerical experience.
College courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Professional Competencies
- Demonstrated experience with and/or commitment to working
effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, in support
of an inclusive and welcoming environment.
- Demonstrated ability to provide superior customer
service.
- Read and write in English for purpose of preparing reports, and
understanding policies, procedures, and safety information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Microsoft Office software.
- Experience working in a large facilities operation.
