The Job Accommodation Network (JAN) at West Virginia University is seeking an individual with a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Industrial and Labor Relations, Human Resources, Safety Engineering, Business Administration or related fields for the position of Consultant. JAN is the premier workplace accommodation and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance consultation service of the U.S. Department of Labor. his junior level Consultant provides highly specialized disability related information and referral services to customers of the JAN, a nationally renowned consulting service. The Consultant will provide direct services to JAN customers including employers, individuals with disabilities, rehabilitation professions, and others. The Consultant also assists more senior consultants with external training and publication development. This position provides support to more than 45,000 individuals with disabilities, rehabilitation professionals, and other service users of the JAN.

Qualifications :

At least 1 year of experience required in working with individuals with disabilities across various specialty areas (motor and sensory disabilities and limitations), knowledge of ADA and related legislation, experience in communicating with individuals of all education levels, knowledge of the accommodation process, assistive technologies, and experience with various database systems.

The ideal candidate may have relevant certification (i.e., Rehabilitation Counseling, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), Professional in Human Resources) and experience with assistive technology.
