The University of Missouri (MU) College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) is dynamically growing and changing. The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis at the University of Missouri is pleased to announce an assistant level teaching professor (non-tenure-track) position in the field of PK12 education. We seek a colleague who can help us expand our commitment to PK12 education, with a specific focus on central office administration. This position offers opportunities to contribute to the PK12 programs (MEd, EdS, Global Education and Leadership Certificate) as well as the Doctorate in Educational Leadership (EdD) and Bachelor of Educational Studies (BES) programs.

Primary responsibilities include contributing to the PK12 program; coordination of the department’s PK12 program; assisting in departmental accreditation efforts; developing and teaching graduate and/or undergraduate courses in PK12 education (online); mentoring and advising students in the PK12 programs; serving on dissertation committees; participating in faculty governance with the Department, College, and University; and providing service, outreach, and leadership to the University, educational institutions, agencies, and professional organizations.

Appointment: Non-tenure-track, 12-month appointment beginning September 1, 2023.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications include an earned doctorate in educational leadership and/or administration, or a related field by time of appointment.

Candidates will be evaluated on the following factors:

  1. Administrative experience at the central office level (superintendent, assistant superintendent, and other related central office positions);
  2. Experience (or potential to be successful) coordinating academic programs, including program planning, accreditation, curriculum development, oversight, marketing, and recruitment;
  3. Experience (or potential to be successful) teaching, advising, and mentoring graduate students in the PK12 Master’s program, EdS program, and Graduate Certificate in Global Education and Leadership; and
  4. Experience (or potential to be successful) working collegially with individuals from diverse backgrounds and contributing to inclusion, diversity, and equity initiatives within the Department and University.
