The Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics in the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship at Kent State University invites applications for the position of Department Chair at the rank of Associate or Full Professor starting July 2023.

Kent State University is the largest university in Northern Ohio and is recognized as a Very High Research Activity (R1) institution by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. Kent State University serves approximately 33,000 students across eight campuses, with 25,000 students on the Kent campus. In addition, the university operates an academic center in Florence, Italy. With enrollment of 3,500 students, the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship offers a wide variety of undergraduate majors and graduate programs including the PhD degree. The college maintains dual AACSB accreditation in both business and accounting, as it pursues its mission to generate societal impact through top-tier research, innovative education, and meaningful engagement with the business community. In Summer 2024, the college will move to Crawford Hall, a new state-of-the art facility currently under construction. Crawford Hall will contain several specialty labs including a dedicated Business Analytics Lab and a Behavioral Research Hub. The successful candidate will be the inaugural chairperson of the Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics (ISBA). Beginning in Fall 2023, the ISBA department will operate as an independent unit separate from the existing Department of Management and Information Systems, https://www.kent.edu/business/mis. In addition to the chairperson, the Department of ISBA is home to twelve tenure-track faculty and three full-time non-tenure track faculty, including three faculty members with appointment on regional campuses. The department offers the BBA degree with majors in Business Analytics and in Computer Information Systems, a MS in Business Analytics, multiple courses in the MBA programs (in-person, online and Executive MBA), and a PhD concentration in Information Systems. In addition, the college operates a Center for Information Systems. The department chair reports to the Dean, Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship. Required Qualifications:

Candidates must have earned a doctorate in information systems, business analytics, or a closely related field, six or more years of relevant experience and faculty rank as a tenured associate professor or be qualified for such rank within the department. In particular, candidates should have a demonstrated ability to publish in premier journals in information systems, business analytics, or a closely related field; and to teach effectively at the undergraduate or graduate level.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates will have (i) faculty rank as a tenured, full professor or be qualified for such rank within the department and (ii) leadership experience, consistent with rank, in internal service roles where high-quality research and teaching are the focus or significant contributions to the profession.
