Tenure-Track Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Food and Nutritional Science (2 posts)



Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Associate Professor/Assistant Professor (2 posts) in Food and Nutritional Science in the School of Biological Sciences (Ref.: 517409), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract. Direct tenure may be offered to outstanding and qualified Associate Professor candidates.

Applicants should possess a PhD degree in Nutritional Sciences or a related discipline. They should have a strong record of peer reviewed publications, strong interest in teaching with a commitment to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and mentoring graduate students, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Registered Dietitian credential is a bonus but not a must.

The successful candidates will provide leadership in the advancement of nutrition research and public health education and have disciplinary expertise in nutrition and dietary intervention, microbiome; omics and bioinformatics, and metabolic dynamics. Translational research, clinical and dietetic research, and community-engaged research addressing vulnerable populations is desirable. This appointment provides an outstanding opportunity for research and teaching collaboration across a broad range of disciplines.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
