The Department of Occupational Safety and Health invites
applications for two full-time, tenure track Assistant/Associate
Professor positions beginning August 2023.
Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include full-time teaching and advising students in the occupational safety and health program. Related duties include university services, scholarship/research, curriculum development, grant writing, interaction with local industry, and recruitment of students, along with other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Requirements:
Ph.D. in Occupational Safety and Health or related field is required. ABDs with a documented plan of completion by appointment date will be considered.
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements:
Candidate must be qualified to teach undergraduate and graduate-level coursework related to occupational health and safety. Good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential to a successful candidate.
Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
Professional certifications such as Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE), and OSHA Authorized Trainer (Construction and/or General Industry) are preferred. Candidates with appropriate teaching experience in higher education or industrial training and previous online teaching are preferred.
