Justice & Community Studies – Hamilton: Assistant Professor (tenure track) to teach undergraduate courses in Criminal Justice, advise students, provide service to the institution, the community and/or the profession and maintain an active research agenda. The appointment will begin August, 2023.

Founded in 1809, Miami University is the 10th oldest public university in the United States. The successful candidate will join the Department of Justice and Community Studies (JCS), which is located at the Miami’s regional campuses in Hamilton and Middletown. JCS currently serves over 200 majors with six full-time and several part-time faculty. JCS is committed to its campus’ community and service mission, to the teacher-scholar model, and to academic freedom and the truth-seeking mission of the University. Typical class size is 20 – 30 students. Required: Ph.D. in criminal justice or closely related discipline or a J.D. and master’s degree in closely related discipline by August, 2023.

Consideration may be given to candidates with prior teaching experience in the classroom and online; research and/or teaching specialization in corrections and/or law and courts.
