Position Purpose

Leads and directs initiatives, programs, activities, and operations of the Revers Center for Energy, Sustainability & Innovation, forging pathways for primarily MBA students to learn and apply their interests and aspirations related to energy, sustainability and innovation and in accordance with Tuck’s mission, strategy, and institutional priorities.

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

1. Experience and skill successfully developing, implementing, and administering co-curricular programs for MBA students or comparable experience in a non-academic setting
2. Knowledge of energy, sustainability and innovation gained through a master’s degree in business, or a related field of study, or a combination of a liberal arts education and relevant work experience.
3. Strong communication skills.
4. Able to support, contribute to, and strengthen a vibrant, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community of students, alumni, faculty, and fellow professionals.
5. Able to successfully engage with multiple constituencies representing diverse interests and perspectives, including industry executives, alumni, and faculty.
6. Able to anticipate, deliver on, and exceed the expectations of students, alumni, faculty and staff colleagues, external partners, and supervisees.
7. Able to introduce and drive innovation in ways small and large.
8. Able to collaborate with others as primary means to achieve results.
9. Able to seek out and create learning opportunities, including through those revealed by setbacks and failures as well as successes.
10. Able to travel domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience and skill providing career coaching to graduate business students and experience working in an academic setting are preferred.
2. Experience engaging with organizational boards and executives, and/or government and public policy officials.

Key Accountabilities

Description

1. Envisions, develops, articulates, and implements plan for achieving center goals and priorities; engages with fellow center directors, Irving Institute for Energy and Society leadership, faculty and staff colleagues, student and alumni leaders, external partners, and other constituents to achieve goals and priorities and surpass programmatic and operational challenges; evaluates progress using data analytics, and updates priorities with direction from the faculty director and Sr. Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning.

2. Pursues and maintains knowledge of center-related market trends and innovations, strengthens beneficial external relationships and networks (e.g., alumni, industry executives and organizations, scholars, and peer schools), and shares and applies center domain knowledge in planning programs, events, and other center activities.

3. Coordinates with the faculty director and other advisors to set the overall direction for center initiatives, co-curricular programs, student engagement and resources, and infrastructure, operations, and budgets. In consultation with subject matter experts, conceptualizes, develops, markets, and implements center program offerings; builds, strengthens, and sustains relationships with center external partners and organizations; identifies and develops center funding opportunities; and leads other activities associated with managing the center.

4. Develops and implements marketing and communications plans, in consultation with the Communications Office, that engage relevant audiences and position Tuck as a visible and compelling leader in energy, sustainability and innovation.

5. Collaborates with fellow center directors, faculty and professional staff colleagues, and others to conceptualize, lead, and implement shared initiatives, projects, and assignments to develop and update co-curricular program content; with Tuck Career Services and Tuck Admissions in the advising of students and prospective students pursuing careers in the energy, sustainability and innovation sectors; and with Tuck Advancement in fundraising. Contributes ideas, input, and support to initiatives, events, and decisions with implications for co-curricular programming and for centers generally at Tuck.
