Job Description:

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide instruction for Windows Desktop Operating Systems (CIT115) . In this course students develop competency installing, configuring, upgrading, and supporting microcomputer-based operating systems. Students learn about memory management and system optimization techniques, system support software utilities, and evaluation and selection methodologies for operating systems. Command line usage, file and disk management, system performance, device drivers, security, network support, hardware peripheral support and help topics are covered. Communication and professionalism are stressed. This course covers material for CompTIA A+ 220-602 exam. Classes to take place Tuesdays and Thursdays during the Spring 2023 semester (Quick Term I) from 2:00-4:45 pm.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  1. Instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes.
  2. Selection and development of appropriate materials for class use.
  3. Assessment of student performance, including submission of final grades in a timely fashion.
  4. Maintaining appropriate attendance and student records.
  5. Availability to students when mutually convenient.



Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

  1. Master's degree in appropriate discipline.
  2. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  3. Excellent organizational skills.
  4. College teaching experience.


ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. CompTIA A+ Certification.
  2. Experience working with GED and ESOL students in alternate learning environments within high schools.
  3. Experience with and a commitment to working in a global multicultural academic setting.

Additional Information:

COMPENSATION : Anticipated starting salary - Step I DCE Pay Scale. Part-time, Non- benefited, MCCC Unit position.
