Position Purpose

The School of Human Services, Child and Family Development program at the University of Central Missouri invites applications for one Assistant Instructor to serve as the Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic Director, position 997224 in the Marriage and Family Therapy, Human Development and Family Science graduate program. The position will begin on January 3, 2023 or at a later date as negotiated.

Responsibilities: Serve as Clinic Director, provide supervision, and teach a limited number of graduate and undergraduate courses in Marriage and Family Therapy and Human Development and Family Science. The position involves professional service to the program, school, university, and professional organizations. Preferred candidate will have the ability to utilize technology for supervision, clinic management and teaching online courses.

This position carries responsibilities for clinical supervision, limited teaching, service, advisement, recruitment, and networking with professionals in the field. The position of the Clinic Director will assist in the implementation of the Marriage and Family Therapy specialization in the Human Development and Family Science MS.

  • Master’s degree required, a doctorate degree preferred in Marriage and Family Therapy, Couple Counseling, Human Development, Family Studies or related field preferred at time of hire.
  • Licensed Marital and Family Therapist.
  • Approved Supervisor or candidate for Approved Supervisor Designation with the American Association for Marital and Family Therapy ( AAMFT ).

  • Candidates should provide evidence of demonstrated effectiveness in supervision, teaching, engagement in service/outreach, ability to advance department’s commitment to diversity, excellent team collaboration skills, competency in instructional technology, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • This position carries responsibilities for clinical supervision, limited teaching, service, advisement, recruitment, and networking withprofessionals in the field. The position of the Clinic Director will assist in the implementation of the Marriage and Family Therapy specialization in the Human Development and Family Science MS program. Applicant must hold a license to practice MFT and be an approved supervisor with AAMFT or candidate for approved supervisor. Preference may be given to candidates withexperience in supervision, clinic management, teaching experience, and MFT programdevelopment.
