The Department of Psychology at the University of Hartford is seeking candidates for a full-time tenure track position as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology in the Graduate Institute of Professional Psychology to begin in August 2023. Primary teaching responsibilities include courses in psychological assessment, as well as in other areas of specialization. We are particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to the child/adolescent track. Essential Job Duties

The teaching load is three courses per semester. Candidates should show a willingness and ability to employ technology in teaching. Additionally, candidates will be expected to remain active in creative/scholarly pursuits and seek opportunities for peer-reviewed publications. Successful applicants will be expected to participate in departmental and college committees, advise students, and contribute to student recruitment and retention. Job responsibilities include supervising dissertation research and providing service to the Graduate Institute of Professional Psychology (e.g., qualifying examinations and admissions). There will also be opportunities to teach in our innovative University Interdisciplinary Studies program and in the undergraduate program. Excellent teaching, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Candidates should demonstrate the commitment and ability to recruit, mentor, and actively engage and involve graduate students in research.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate must have completed the doctorate in clinical/counseling psychology or closely related field by July 1, 2023. Licensure or ability to attain licensure as a psychologist in Connecticut within two years is required.
