Job Summary

Serving as a member of the Admissions Leadership Team, this position directs recruitment event planning and execution to meet new student enrollment goals for the University. This includes the coordination of daily campus visits, group tours, and on-campus events such as open houses, informational sessions, counselor breakfasts, and accepted students days and arrangement of virtual and off-campus events such as school counselor luncheons, regional information sessions, accepted student receptions, and virtual information sessions for various audiences. The Assistant Director supervises full time staff, student workers, and student volunteers who assist with recruitment events.

Responsibilities
  • Perform related duties as assigned to support the mission of the University
  • Provide information concerning the University to prospective students and their families
  • Serve as counselor on call and conduct information sessions
  • Plan and implement off-campus events for the Office of Admissions to include counselor luncheons, information nights, and previews
  • Assist with on-campus events on the Savannah and Hinesville campuses
  • Supervise full-time events and visitation staff on the Savannah and Statesboro campuses
  • Supervise full-time Administrative Assistants on the Statesboro campus who serve as the first point of contact via phone and in person for the office and University Welcome Center
  • Arrange shift coverage for counselor-on-call, presenters for daily informational sessions, campus tours, and on- and off-campus events
  • Assist with supervision of Student Assistants needed for office coverage and assists in their training and development throughout the year
  • Hire, train and supervise the Southern Ambassador student recruitment team, made up of volunteer tour guides who give tours of campus, work Admissions events, and assist with other department tour requests
  • Coordinate with Admissions Communications on advertising events, website updates, and Slate events maintenance
  • Manage coverage for informatoin sessions, walk-in visitors, incoming calls, and inbound admissions emails
  • Work with Savannah campus Southern Ambassador team to ensure unity and common practices across campuses
  • Manage counselor-on-call/information session schedule
  • Overesee the Recruiment Events Budget


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience
  • Four (4) years of related work experience
  • Two (2) or more years of experience supervising full-time employees
  • Significant event planning experience


Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Education
  • Master's Degree

Preferred Experience
  • Six (6) years of related work experience
  • Experience in college admissions or enrollment management
  • Experience supervising and advising college students
  • Experience with student information systems, such as Banner
  • Experience with customer relationship management systems, such as Slate


Proposed Salary

$49,400 - $57,500

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
