Department of Chemistry at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK; https://chem.utk.edu/) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Inorganic Chemistry. The anticipated start date for the position is August 1, 2023. Appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor requires a completed Ph.D. degree in chemistry at time of application; at least one year of postdoctoral research experience is preferred. Successful candidates are expected to develop a nationally recognized, externally funded research program while also contributing to the department’s missions of service and teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level. UTK is the flagship campus of the University of Tennessee system. Faculty in our department have the opportunity to collaborate with researchers and benefit from unique facilities both on campus and at nearby Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). These include the Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences (CNMS), Spallation Neutron Source (SNS), High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR), and High Temperature Materials Laboratory (HTML).

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree in chemistry completed at time of application; at least one year of postdoctoral research experience is preferred.
• Inorganic Chemistry Discipline (such as organometallic, bio-inorganic, solid-state, main-group and f-element chemistry)
