The Substitute is to carry out the lessons and/or activities the Teacher has developed for the day.
Essential Functions
1. Implement curriculum and lesson plans.
2. Supervise children in classroom activities, during naptime, and outdoor playtime.
Qualifications
Knowledge: Senior Staff 90-hour certificate from State of Maryland accredited program, bachelors degree in Education, or MSDE Level 4 certification. Must be 21 years or older.
Experience: 1year minimum experience in a daycare/preschool setting. Must successfully undergo a criminal background check, finger printing, and pre-employment physical evaluation.
Skills/Aptitude: Must be able to participate in team-teaching approach and communicate effectively with parents and children. Must be able to lift young children, get up and down from the floor, move furniture and participate in lively outdoor activities.
Vaccinations: All staff are required to be fully vaccinated. Must submit proof of COVID-19 and FLU vaccination prior to teaching.
Working Conditions: Preschool/daycare center environment. This position has been identified as having a potential risk for occupational exposure to potentially infectious material; as such, this position is required to be offered the Hepatitis B Vaccine at no cost to the employee, and annual training on Preventing Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens must be completed.
