Notre Dame of Maryland University is seeking a Student Accounts Assistant for our Business Office. This position is responsible for keeping student accounts receivables current through data entry and working with students, parents and Financial Aid to assure timely payment to the university.

Essential Functions will include :

  1. Coordinates and executes monthly student billing including tuition, financial aid and housing.
  2. Interacts with MIS on billing functions and specialized needs.
  3. Responsible for batch corrections, restoration, processes and specialized reports.
  4. Updates accounts receivable through data entry and posting of batches.
  5. Updates accounts receivable through data entry and posting of batches.
  6. Assists with processing of collections and outstanding balances on student accounts.
  7. Completes daily/monthly closeout of accounts receivable.
  8. Interacts with students and parents via telephone, mail and in person to resolve billing problems and answer questions.
  9. Maintains general filing of student records and maintains related receivables records.
  10. Interacts with various departments concerning student accounts receivable issues.
  11. Monitors and verifies information accuracy.
  12. Performs such similar, comparable or related duties as may be assigned or required.




Qualifications:
  • Knowledge : High school diploma or GED. Knowledge of basic receivable systems and procedures.
  • Experience : Two years accounts receivable experience to include computerized monthly billing process necessary. Two to three years’ experience in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Skills/Aptitude: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Ability to use receivable software and spreadsheet packages. Must be detail oriented. Team player. Good customer service skills.
  • Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Some overtime may be required.
