The Spadoni College of Education and Social Sciences at Coastal Carolina University announce an opening for a Clinical Teaching Associate in Elementary Education beginning in Spring 2023. This position may be renewable each year.
Candidates must have an earned Master’s Degree in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction or a closely related field with 18 hours of graduate coursework (or extensive documented experience) in the selected discipline with at least three years teaching grades 2-6 in United States public schools. Prior university teaching experience is preferred. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses and/or supervise field experiences and internships.
About the Program and University:
The Elementary Education program prepares candidates to meet the educational requirements for South Carolina licensure in elementary education (grades 2-6). Students pursuing a degree in elementary education develop their knowledge, skills, and dispositions through challenging, inquiry-based learning experiences; these include study in the core areas of literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies as well as music, health, and physical education. Together with an in-depth study of child growth and development, educational psychology, teaching methodology, instructional technology and focused, off-campus clinical experiences, the Elementary Education Program at Coastal Carolina University offers students a program rich in practicality, relevance, and professional growth opportunities.
Coastal Carolina University is a public comprehensive liberal arts institution located in Conway, South Carolina, minutes from the Atlantic coastal resort city of Myrtle Beach. Coastal Carolina University enrolls over 10,000 students from 46 states and 53 nations. The University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the baccalaureate and selective master’s degrees of national and/or regional significance in the arts and sciences, business, humanities, education, and health and human services, a specialist degree in educational leadership, and Ph.D. degrees in Marine Science and Education.
Coastal Carolina University is committed to fostering an environment that embraces diversity, equity and inclusion, and we seek candidates who will contribute to a climate that supports the growth and development of a diverse campus community. The University provides equal opportunity without regard to race, color, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, religion, national or ethnic origin, veteran status or disability in admissions, employment and in all of its educational programs and activities.
