Essential Functions (Job Duties):

Wayne State University’s Department of Urban Studies and Planning (DUSP) seeks candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning August 2023. We offer the following degree programs: Master of Urban Planning (MUP) and Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Urban Studies. Additionally, we offer graduate certificates in Economic Development, Urban Sustainability, and Geographic Information Systems, and undergraduate minors in Urban Studies and Urban Sustainability. The successful candidate will teach in these graduate and undergraduate programs.

The successful candidate will teach in these graduate and undergraduate programs. We are interested in candidates who can use racial inequities as the framework for studying urban and planning issues, and who can incorporate the perspectives and experiences of underrepresented and social groups that are underserved by academic research, teaching, and service and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have completed a Ph.D. in Planning or related field by August 2023.
